Burbank Forms Panel for Ideas on Zoning

The Burbank City Council on Tuesday formed a “blue-ribbon committee” to help coordinate recommendations for city officials who are revising a plan for redevelopment and zoning in the city’s Rancho residential area.

The council is expected to form a second committee to gather recommendations on development in the Media District soon.

The nine-member committee, which will be composed of residents, business leaders and city officials, will also submit recommendations for the city’s zoning plan. Officials are revising the city’s zoning.

The idea for the committee surfaced at a special council hearing last week, where dozens of residents told the council that they are unhappy with increasing development in the Media District and the adjacent Rancho neighborhoods.
