The Region : ‘Skid Row Slasher’ Loses Bid for Parole

Share

Vaughn Greenwood, the “Skid Row Slasher” convicted of killing nine people in a Los Angeles murder spree, has been refused parole by the state Board of Prison Terms. The three-member board also ruled that Greenwood, 40, must wait three years before applying again for a release date, citing the nature of Greenwood’s offense, his failure to take advantage of rehabilitation programs offered to him and the reports of prison psychiatrists as reasons for their decision. Greenwood was convicted of nine murders, between 1964 and 1975, in a 1976 trial.
