What are the holidays for, if not to gather together friends and family members?
Lawrence Welk does just that for a “Christmas Reunion, 1985” musical special airing Wednesday, Christmas night, from 9 to 10 p.m. on KTTV Channel 11.
Champagne Lady Norma Zimmer and singer Anacani, shown with the maestro on the cover, are among members of Welk’s musical family appearing on the program.
Others include Jo Ann Castle, Kenny Trimble, Sherry Aldridge, the Otwell Twins, Guy and Ralna, Bobby Burgess and Elaine Niverson, Sandi Griffiths, Mary Lou Metzger and Gail, Ron and Michael . . . all familiar names for those who watched Welk during his 27-year run on national TV.
Welk, who has been entertaining for 61 years, will be 83 next March 11. This marks the 30th consecutive year that a Welk Christmas show has been aired.
