29 Lost in Bus Plunge

RIO DE JANEIRO —
Twenty-nine people were believed to have died when a Brazilian interstate bus left a mountain road and plunged 100 feet into a river, a fire brigade spokesman said Sunday. According to the spokesman, 14 passengers swam to safety before the bus sank to the bottom of the Ribeirao das Lages river, 75 miles west of here, on Saturday.
