Placentia : Planning Commissioner Will Become Treasurer

Share

Next month, Carolyn H. Davis will trade hats and leave her job as a planning commissioner to become the city’s new treasurer.

Davis, who has been a planning commissioner since August, 1977, will replace Jean Pappas, who resigned from the job because she said it had become too time-consuming.

City Council members recently selected Davis from a pool of four applicants. The other three were Shelle Bilhartz, William P. Coston and Burwell Temple III.

Davis will be sworn in during the Jan. 7 council meeting and will serve in the part-time job, which pays $5 monthly, until next November’s election, Asst. City Administrator Jack Slota said. In Placentia, the treasurer’s post is an elected position.

As city treasurer, Davis will be responsible for city funds and will work with the city’s finance director.

Meanwhile, city officials are looking for a replacement for Davis on the Planning Commission, which meets on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of every month. The deadline for submitting applications is Jan. 17.
