Adopt-a-Grandparent: Older students at Tustin Memorial Elementary School have joined in the spirit of Christmas with their Adopt-a-Grandparent program for senior citizens at the Tustin Manor facility. Students in grades four through six will visit residents of Tustin Manor each month, according to Mark Eliot of the Tustin Unified School District. They will spend time with their newly adopted “grandparents,” bring them gifts and generally share a little holiday cheer with the seniors in the Tustin area. Eliot said the students plan visits to their “grandparents” throughout the school year. For more information on the Adopt-a-Grandparent program, call the school at (714) 730-7546.
