Cardinals Will Open Spring Training Feb. 21
The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that spring training will begin Feb. 21 when pitchers and catchers report to the National League club’s camp in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Five days later, the rest of the squad will report, and the pre-season schedule opens on March 8 against the New York Mets at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, the club said.
The Cardinals will play 29 exhibition games, with all but two in Florida. After breaking camp, the Cardinals will play the Kansas City Royals in exhibition games in Little Rock, Ark., on April 5 and Memphis, Tenn., on April 6.
