A federal jury today convicted 10 people of racketeering for the Nazi-like group The Order in a crime campaign that prosecutors said was engineered to topple the government and establish a bastion of white racial purity.

The verdicts meant a clean sweep on the racketeering charges for federal prosecutors, who had accused the nine men and one woman of participating in a white supremacist plot that included the murder of Denver radio host Alan Berg and more than $4 million in robberies in 1983 and 1984.

The all-white jury delivered its verdicts after deliberating for more than 55 hours over two weeks. The panel received the case Dec. 16 after four months of testimony.

Sentencing was set for Feb. 6-7. Conviction under the federal racketeering law carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

The defendants showed little reaction as the verdicts were read. Two, Andrew Barnhill and Ardie McBrearty, winked as they left the courtroom, while Randall Evans, said, “Christ is king.”
