Burkina Faso and its West African neighbor, Mali, have confirmed a truce agreement negotiated by Nigeria and Libya to end a five-day border conflict, according to official radio reports from the two combatants. The foreign ministers of both countries met in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, with ministers from five other West African nations to seek a settlement. The truce was at first denied by Mali, but official Bamako radio reported late in the day that Mali accepts the cease-fire.
