Piece of Jet Falls Off; Flight Aborted Safely

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. —
An engine cowling on a Boeing 727 blew off shortly after takeoff and forced Delta Air Lines Flight 326 to return to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, officials said Sunday.
No injuries were reported on the plane, which was bound for Detroit with 123 passengers. Officials said a compressor malfunction may have caused the accident Saturday.
