The Soviet Union, trailing by 15 points in the first half, defeated France, 110-103, in the final of a four-nation basketball tournament at Paris.

The United States beat Czechoslovakia, 74-69, for third place. Dan Caldwell scored 14 points for the United States, while Ed Nealy and Bobby Lee Hurt had 12 apiece.

Arvidas Sabonis scored 38 points for the Soviets in the title game.
