Israel Sentences Arab

JERUSALEM —
Palestinian student Majdi Badha, from the West Bank town of Nablus, was sentenced Monday to four years’ imprisonment for stabbing an Israeli soldier in Jerusalem’s Old City a year ago. The judge told Badha, who said he acted for nationalist reasons, that the relatively light sentence was imposed because the soldier’s wounds were slight. Serious wounds would have resulted in a 20-year term, the judge said.
