Price Co. Reports 33% Rise in Income

Price Co. announced that its net income rose 33% to $18.3 million and revenue increased 50% to $815.6 million for the first quarter ended Dec. 22.
Sales in Price Clubs that were operating during the same period last year increased by 22%, according to company Vice President Mitchell G. Lynn.
The San Diego-based firm, which operates 24 membership-only wholesale warehouses in five states, earlier announced a 2-for-1 stock split that will be effective at the close of business Friday.
The company will hold its annual meeting Tuesday in San Francisco.
