BORING IN ON AL

May I suggest that Al Pacino “the actor who doesn’t do interviews” doesn’t do them for the very good reason that he has nothing to say (“Actor, Actor,” by Paul Rosenfield, Dec. 29).

If it took “four publicists” to arrange this one interview of yours, this “long afternoon of talk” during which he said nothing at all intelligible, then you would have been better served had they told you to forget it.

“Do you think I’m intense?,” Pacino asked your starry-eyed reporter. Sorry, Al, not intense, just boring.
