Micom Systems, a Simi Valley-based maker of computer communications equipment, said it hired two new executives and shifted two others into new jobs. Michael E. Barker, 38, who was Micom’s corporate vice president of manufacturing and president of the Micom Technologies subsidiary, was named president of Micom-Interlan. The Boxborough, Mass.-based unit, acquired last March, supplies equipment that links personal computers.

Ashok Dhawan, 38, a corporate vice president who also was president of Micom-Interlan, will become general manager of the company’s Data PABX Systems Group in Simi Valley. Data PABX Systems, which makes computer communications equipment that works like an electronic telephone switchboard, recently was spun off from Micom-Interlan.

Two new executives, Joseph A. Fields and Alexander W. Saunders, were hired to assume Barker’s previous duties. Fields, 40, formerly vice president of operations at Thesys Memory Products in Scottsdale, Ariz., was named corporate vice president of manufacturing. Saunders, 40, is the new president of Micom Technologies, which makes remote communications products. Saunders was a vice president of Applied Digital Data Systems, a Hauppauge, N.Y.-based subsidiary of NCR.
