A man and woman from South Carolina suspected of killing a Glendale Domino’s Pizza deliveryman pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and three robbery charges at their arraignment in Glendale Municipal Court. Mitchell Carlton Sims, 26, and Ruby Carol Padgett, 20, were ordered to be held without bail pending a March 12 preliminary hearing. They are suspected of strangling and drowning deliveryman John Steven Harrigan, 21, in their Glendale motel room Dec. 9 and then attempting to murder two other Domino’s employees during a robbery of the Glendale restaurant later that night. The murder charge includes special circumstances that could result in the death penalty if convicted. Sims and Padgett are also wanted in the Dec. 3 murder of two Domino’s employees in Hanahan, S.C., where Sims once worked as a cook.
