The United States Football League announced Wednesday that at least eight teams, including three in Florida, have committed to resuming operations with an 18-game schedule in the fall.

The eight teams, which made their commitments at a meeting in Orlando, Fla., are six fewer than played the last spring season, which ended in July 1985.

The three Florida franchises are Jacksonville, Tampa Bay and Orlando. Other commitments came from Arizona, Baltimore, Birmingham, Memphis and New Jersey.
