Pope Receives Viet Bishop
VATICAN CITY — Pope John Paul II met with the Roman Catholic archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City on Friday in what was seen in Vatican circles as a possible reflection of improving relations between the Vatican and Communist Vietnam. Archbishop Paul Nguyen Van Binh, 76, had been long barred by Hanoi from traveling to Rome.
