A federal grand jury in Los Angeles indicted two Irvine businessmen and two Hong Kong residents on charges of illegally exporting computer equipment to China. Louis Luk, 29, and Jonas Leung, 32, both of Irvine, were arrested shortly after the indictment. James Ng and Lilly Wan, both of Hong Kong, were also charged in the 16-count document. The four are accused of illegally exporting about $200,000 worth of computer equipment. Luk and Leung allegedly purchased the equipment from various computer manufacturers through their Irvine company, McCall Resources Inc. Some equipment was hand-carried out of the United States to Hong Kong, while other items were shipped by freight to Hong Kong and then on to China, the indictment alleges.
