The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency board of directors extended for one month an unusual bargaining process aimed at coming up with an environmental plan for the region. Although representatives of developers, environmentalists and the state of California have reached tentative agreement on many issues, still unresolved is how to best protect streams and how to restrict single-family home building on “environmentally sensitive” lots, according to Tom Martens, executive director of the League to Save Lake Tahoe. A final document is to be presented to the agency board in February or March.
