Anaheim : Death of Restaurant Employee Investigated
Police are investigating the death of a Pizza Hut employee who was killed in an apparent robbery attempt late Thursday night.
The victim, whose name was being withheld pending notification of his family, was “struck on the head with an unknown weapon and died at the scene,” Anaheim Police Sgt. John Haradon said.
A passer-by who looked in the restaurant’s window at 5626 E. La Palma Ave. shortly before 7 a.m. Friday noticed the body lying just inside the door, police said.
“The victim had been dead for several hours,” Haradon said. “Robbery is the most likely motive.”
The victim was identified only as a male “in his 40s.”
“It looks like he was the one closing up” when the attack occurred, Haradon said.
