Palo Alto-based Consolidated Freightways reported slightly higher earnings for the fourth quarter while net income for all of 1985 rose 6.5% from 1984. The company cited a strong performance by its CF International & Air unit early in 1985 and by CF Land Transportation later in the year for the increases. Earnings also benefited from investment gains and a lower tax rate.
