Judges’ Pay

Share

I am amazed there has not been a public outcry about senior federal judges quitting work in response to what they call “a cut in pay.”

With retirement pay of $83,000 and $78,000 for appeals and district court judges respectively, they are crying because they may lose the $500 monthly they receive for helping the judicial system out of the morass of backlogged cases.

Have they, like too many other professionals, become so omniscient and unable to live on these fat retirement wages that they cannot repay their nation?

My heart bleeds for them!

And it’s a great example for the hundreds of thousands of retired workers who give their time, money and selves to the many agencies devoted to helping the disadvantaged and consider it a privilege!
