The Contractors State License Board is hoping for a quick ruling on a request to revoke the license of a contractor the board says installed non-functional fire sprinkler systems in at least three Monterey County buildings. Sondra Vaughan, the board’s regional director, said she expects a decision from Administrative Law Judge Robert Coffman “within a week.” Vaughan called Daniel Frye, 40, “a blatant fraud.” Frye was responsible for problems with sprinkler systems in a private school, a hospital and a shopping center, board lawyers said. He was not available for comment.
