Gov. George Deukmejian, who landed his first bit part in a television series last week, told reporters Saturday that his acting debut has yet to bring him any “big offers.”

Deukmejian played himself in a brief appearance in the television series “Hotel.” He received $361 for his part in the show, which will be aired sometime in May.

“It’s just a little walk-on part,” Deukmejian told reporters after speaking at a Vietnamese New Year’s festival in San Jose. “It was a fun experience. I enjoyed it very much.”

In the episode, the governor is asked how a press conference went. Deukmejian responds--perhaps surprisingly--that the reporters were in “a good mood.”

The governor filmed the segment Monday during a semi-political swing through Southern California.

The segment had to be filmed twice because another of the show’s actors blew one of his lines, but Deukmejian had no problem remembering his part, aides to the governor said.
