The suit was filed on behalf of a Philadelphia women over the company’s failure to offer cash refunds to customers returning instant cameras. Eastman Kodak was ordered to withdraw its instant photography products after losing a patent infringement suit filed by Polaroid. The latest suit alleges that Kodak’s failure to include cash refunds to purchasers of instant cameras constituted an “unfair and deceptive” act or practice under Pennsylvania’s consumer protection law. Kodak is offering three options to purchasers of its instant cameras: an equal swap for a disc camera, one share of Kodak stock or a $50 Kodak credit. Kodak’s stock closed Monday at $48.75 a share.
