Computer Memories, a beleaguered disk drive maker that has lost several senior executives in recent months, last week announced the resignation of its vice president for sales and marketing.

The executive, James D. Kaufmann, left the Chatsworth-based company to join Wangtek, a Simi Valley maker of cartridge tape drives for computer memory systems. His duties will be assumed by Don Sherwyn, who was named Computer Memories’ sales manager. Sherwyn was a district sales manager and assistant corporate counsel.

Other executives who have left Computer Memories since October include Finis Conner, who briefly served as chairman, Gary W. Streuter, the company’s former president, and Jeffrey J. Hakeman, who was vice president of engineering.
