Government security measures were tightened around Paris to try to halt a wave of bombing attacks injuring at least 20 people in some of the city’s best-known areas in the last week. Extra security guards were also reported on duty at Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports. Security was also reported tightened at landmarks and museums in the French capital. Some French officials believe the responsibility lies with a Mideast group that is seeking to force the Paris government into negotiations for the release of four French hostages in Lebanon.
