State Realtors Group Opposes AIDS Disclosure
The California Assn. of Realtors doesn’t believe that disclosure that a former home owner or tenant had acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) should be legally required, according to Richard Rosenthal, president of the Los Angeles-based professional organization.
But because of the legal uncertainty surrounding the issue, the association is “actively pursuing all available options, including possible legislation to clarify this important issue,” he added.
Rosenthal said that scientific and medical evidence accumulated to date concludes that there is no known risk of AIDS virus transmission from occupying the same space formerly occupied by an AIDS victim.
