Calabasas Park’s Veritec Enters Joint Study With British Firm

Veritec has reached an agreement with G. R. Electronics Ltd. of Newport, Wales, to jointly study the development of hand-held computer terminals that would recognize identification codes on products as small as computer chips. No terms were disclosed.
Calabasas Park-based Veritec has devised an electronic anti-counterfeiting code it calls Vericode, which is similar in principle to the bar codes that electronically indicate prices on some grocery products. G. R. Electronics makes hand-held computers.
