Gorbachev Reported Planning Greek Visit

ATHENS — Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev will visit Greece in May, a senior Greek Communist diplomat said Tuesday.
“Gorbachev will discuss Greek-Soviet relations, which have been steadily improving in all sectors, the Soviet Union’s proposals for a solution to the Cyprus problem and wider questions of peace and disarmament,” said the diplomat, who asked not to be identified.
However, government spokesman Miltiades Papaioannou said, “I have not been informed of such a visit,”
