Jamaica Police Seize $600 Million in Cocaine

KINGSTON, Jamaica —
Police in a south coast village seized a record 1,200 pounds of cocaine, worth some $600 million, destined for sale in the United States, officials said Wednesday.
A police spokesman said the 1,200 pounds of cocaine packed in 23 plastic bags was found Sunday in a van searched by police in Union, a village in St. Elizabeth parish.
