15 Filipino Rebels Slain

MANILA —
Government troops backed by artillery captured a Communist stronghold in the southern Philippines, killing 15 guerrillas, the military said Wednesday. Brig. Gen. Madrino Munoz said the attack at dusk Tuesday in the village of Tinuli, Misamis Oriental province, 500 miles south of Manila, caught about 70 rebels of the Communist New People’s Army by surprise.
