Next Sunday, Deborah Caulfield reports on “The Hitcher,” which is produced and distributed by HBO, Silver Screen Partners and Tri-Star Pictures and stars Rutger Hauer and C. Thomas Howell. It’s a horrific tale of an maniac hitchhiker (Hauer) who slits peoples’ throats, hacks off a victim’s finger, French fries it, and rips a woman in two.
