Help for Older People: A program developed between the postal workers’ union and Westminster Senior Center may let older people living alone in the Westminster area rest easier. The “Postal Alert” plan calls for mail carriers to watch out for elderly residents by alerting the senior center if mail is not picked up within 24 hours after delivery. Participants will be identified by stickers on their mail boxes. The need for the program was demonstrated when a number of seniors were found injured days after falling in their homes, senior coordinator, Betty Goyne said. For more information, call the center at (714) 895-2878.
