A Hospital’s Unsung Heroines, Heroes

Ursula Vils’ article on Kimberly Goff certainly highlighted the care by Dennis and Barbara Goff--two wonderful parents (“Infant, Family Battle a Rare Stroke,” Feb. 4). Having been involved in the hospital care of Kimberly, I believe the reporting of the severity and magnitude of her problem was well written by Vils. These stories have great human interest in today’s struggle for the cure and care of sick children.

However, the unsung heroines and heroes were not mentioned. Kimberly spent 5 1/2 months in Kaiser Hospital at Panorama City in our Intensive Care Units in nursery and pediatrics. She received constant and expert attention by the untiring nurses through her many close calls of breathing and eating. They were an expert vigil over Kim 24 hours a day. They deserve a word of praise for their devotion to saving little Kimberly’s life. I thank them.
