WASHINGTON —
The Senate today approved, 92 to 0, legislation to make terrorists who attack Americans overseas punishable under U.S. law. The legislation, which is supported by the Administration, was sent to the House.
Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), the bill’s main sponsor, said the measure would expand a current law that makes it a U.S. crime to commit a hijacking against Americans or take Americans hostage overseas.
