Washington State has tentatively switched its Nov. 1 football game with Stanford from Pullman, Wash., to Stanford.
The switch, which angered Washington State Coach Jim Walden, reduces the number of Cougar home games to six.
“It was originally Stanford’s game, but it was switched to our place,” said Rod Commons, Washington State sports information director. “Stanford would like to have it back.”
Said Walden: “You’d think we were committing adultery, to have seven home games. You’d think maybe the old coach deserved a chance to play seven games at home once.”
