KTLA really did air “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” uncut as promised: the f -word turned up nearly a dozen times, there were a couple of s -words--and bare male buttocks dashing down a hospital corridor.
KTLA had extra operators standing by during Tuesday’s telecast. A station spokesman said about 160 calls were logged, running about 2-1 in favor of the program.
“Some did a little huffing and puffing over the language,” he said, “but even those who complained apparently sat and watched.”
The movie had the second-best local ratings in its time slot (14.2 rating/20 share), beaten only by the KCBS lineup.
