Guard Pete Murphy scored 25 points Saturday night to lead the University of San Diego to a 75-62 victory over Santa Clara in a West Coast Athletic Conference basketball game at San Diego.

Mark Bostic and Scott Thompson each added 14 points for San Diego, which improved its record to 17-8 overall and 7-4 in the conference.

Ken Mulkey scored 18 points for Santa Clara (10-15, 5-6).

St. Mary’s 82, San Francisco 76--Guard Paul Robertson scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Gaels to victory at Moraga, Calif.

St. Mary’s improved its record to 10-14 overall and 3-8 in the conference. USF dropped to 7-18 and 2-9.
