As New York snow birds visiting La Jolla, Beyer and Rabey’s New York article filled me with great nostalgia. There are two must tourist attractions for every visitor to the Big Apple. One is SoHo on a Saturday afternoon. Starting from West Broadway and Houston Street, one will be in the center of fashion and art. An inexpensive and friendly place to eat is the Broome Street Bar.

The second is to stroll down Columbus Avenue any early evening. Start at 79th and walk to Lincoln Center. This street is the epitome of “Yuppie Land.” In addition, you will rub shoulders with ballet dancers and aspiring actors. A fun place to eat and watch this exciting world is the Saloon on 64th Street. We are very friendly.
