Hoping to lure away California Lottery players, 16 Nevada casinos are betting that larger slot machine payoffs will stem the tide. The casinos obtained state approval last week to offer “Megabucks Superjackpots,” a computer-linked slot machine network that will allow them to provide payoffs ranging from $1 million to $15 million. Offered several times a year, the super jackpots will start on March 6.
