The Board of Supervisors also agreed Tuesday to conduct a campaign to inform the public about the hazards of lobster traps in surfing areas, and to ask the state Department of Fish and Game to consider amendments to lobster fishing regulations to help identify the violators and their traps.

The county will also direct lifeguards and other affected agencies to review existing mutual-aid agreements and make suggestions for improving water-rescue techniques.
