Sholes, a member of the Duck’s Breath Mystery Theatre comedy group, regularly writes and voices humorous mini-essays for National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.” A distinctive observer, he crams each motor-mouth monologue into two minutes or less and views current culture with a wittily acerbic gaze. This 42-minute collection should delight anyone who enjoys pungent peevishness, though some of Sholes’ young-Andy-Rooney barbs are less sharp than others and the repetitious NPR intros should have been excised.
