President Reagan has no plans to meet with deposed Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos when he stops in Hawaii April 26 on the first leg of his trip to the Far East, a spokesman said today.

Deputy Press Secretary Larry Speakes, who has been responding daily to questions regarding Marcos, his clan and their property holdings, said Reagan has repeated, through intermediaries, that Marcos and his family were welcome to stay in the United States.

“We’ve had a lot of discussions with him as to his intentions and decisions,” Speakes said. “There’s been no final decision, no final determination.”

The Marcos party has been staying at Hickam Air Force Base near Honolulu since they fled the Pacific nation last week.

Reagan is scheduled to stop over in Hawaii as he travels to Indonesia and Japan in late April but Speakes said the President has no plans to meet with Marcos.

Vice President George Bush, meanwhile, said the United States does not have to justify its decision to bring a planeload of Marcos’ valuables from Manila in addition to giving him and his family and friends safe haven.
