Pipe Bombs Found at IRS Office
Two pipe bombs discovered by a gardener outside a vacant Internal Revenue Service office in Culver City were defused this morning by members of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department bomb squad.
A glass door to the empty office at 6071 Slauson Ave. had been shattered, though not by an explosion, Culver City police said. The IRS had vacated the office a month ago. Police said they did not know of any link between the pipe bombs and a fire early Monday in an IRS office in Glendale.
