The Region : Tentative Accord at Herald Examiner
Union negotiators and management at the Los Angeles Herald Examiner reached a tentative three-year contract agreement, which employees were expected to ratify at a meeting Thursday night. Neither side revealed details, but Herald Chief Operating Executive John McCabe said that both sides had given ground on significant issues. The last remaining issue was believed to be money. The employees, represented by Local 388M of the Graphic Communications Union District Council No. 2, had authorized their negotiators to call a strike unless settlement was reached.
