Defensive end Fred Robinson of the San Diego Chargers was arrested Friday night in San Diego after a brawl at a hotel bar in which two vice squad detectives were injured, police said Saturday.

Robinson, 24, was booked into the county jail for investigation of two counts of battery on a police officer, resisting arrest with force and fighting in public. He was released Saturday on bail of $26,100.

Police said detectives Daniel Stanley and Richard Sullivan were making routine rounds of Mission Valley bars about 10 p.m. Friday when they saw a woman, who they believed to be under the legal drinking age, having a beer at a bar in the Radisson Hotel.

As the detectives tried to escort her out, Robinson allegedly became involved in a confrontation with the officers, and a fight erupted involving several other patrons, as well.

Robinson, 6-4 and 240, was picked up by the Chargers on waivers from Tampa Bay in 1984. He played at the University of Miami.
