Anaheim : Woman Who Was Hit by Car Dies of Injuries
An Anaheim woman died Monday of injuries she suffered when she was struck by a car while crossing State College Boulevard a day earlier.
Beatrice Rinden, 35, was hit Sunday morning when she ran across the Anaheim thoroughfare into the path of an oncoming car, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Richard Zschoche.
The driver, James N. Eyre, 19, of Placentia, braked but was not able to stop before striking Rinden. She was not in a crosswalk, Zschoche said.
Rinden was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to UCI Medical Center, where she died at 1 p.m. Monday.
