More than 100 striking meatpackers and supporters were arrested after they padlocked Hormel’s corporate headquarters, in Austin, Minn., sent the keys to the governor’s office and linked arms in what the police chief called “mass civil disobedience.” Production at Hormel’s flagship meat plant, where the workers went on strike Aug. 17, was not interrupted.
